Description
Iron Goddess of Compassion — Tieguanyin Oolong
Tieguanyin (铁观音) takes its name from Guanyin, the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion, and the iron-rich soil of Anxi county in Fujian province — the birthplace of this cultivar and the region that defines its standard. Anxi sits in the mountains of southern Fujian, where maritime air from the Taiwan Strait mingles with high-altitude fog. The resulting microclimate produces an oolong with a distinctly coastal freshness — what tea people call 音韵 (yīn yùn), the “Guanyin rhyme.”
This is a lightly roasted Tieguanyin (清香型, qīngxiāng style) — partially oxidized, rolled into tight pellets that slowly unfurl through multiple steeps. The light roast preserves the cultivar’s signature orchid fragrance while adding a gentle warmth that smooths the finish. It’s approachable but unmistakably complex.
For wholesale F&B use, this performs exceptionally as a standalone hot tea. Each steep produces a noticeably different cup — ideal for table service where guests brew multiple rounds.
