2019 Moonlight White — Aged Yunnan White Tea
Yueguang Bai (月光白), or Moonlight White, is a Yunnan white tea made from large-leaf cultivar. Unlike Fujian white teas, it is withered indoors away from direct sunlight — the process is slow, gentle, and produces a tea with more body and depth than most whites. The leaves are distinctively two-toned: dark on one side, silver on the other.
This is our 2019 harvest — five years of storage in Menghai, one of the most historically significant tea-producing counties in Yunnan, home to old-growth Pu-erh forests and a subtropical climate ideal for tea aging. Time has softened the fresh florals and deepened the profile. Where young Moonlight White is fruity and floral, the aged version takes on warmth, gentle earthiness, and a woody complexity that builds with each steep.
Aged white tea in sachet format is rare. We pressed this into pyramid sachets specifically so F&B operators could offer something genuinely unusual — a cup with a story, a year, and a terroir.
